Who is JESUS CHRIST

       Adventism arose in the 1800's from the Advent Awakening and especially from the Millerite Movement. "Unto 2300 days, then shall the sanctuary be cleansed."-----Daniel 8:14 [This is the first pillar of Seventh Day Adventism].

Advent means Perousia or the coming of JESUS. In the 1800's most of Christianity believed that a 1000 years of peace must come first and that the world is getting better and better. GOD sent Adventism to correct errors!

Seventh-day Adventist Christians are born again believers who are in love with Jesus Christ and the Bible, saved by grace alone in the atoning blood of JESUS. SDA's believe that salvation is a free gift of GOD and cannot be earned, but being saved and recreated for the very purpose of good works [ Eph. 2:8-10], thus, our Sabbath-keeping is not legalism. Not only did our Lord JESUS save us on the cross, but also from our present sins being our Saviour not in but from sin [Matthew 1:21].


We firmly believe that when the Bible says that the earthly sanctuary was a shadow or copy of the genuine in heaven, then it is so. There we find all of the 10 Commandments including the seventh-day Sabbath under the throne, the mercy seat of GOD.  We also have a real priest in heaven, JESUS CHRIST. It even gives us the time period in which that heavenly temple would be trodden under foot Daniel 8:13 and Revelation 11:2 and gave the world a faulty view of salvation.

"Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?"---Daniel 8:13

There is no doubt in the mind of the serious Bible student that this symbolic 42 months are the 1260 literal years of papal supremacy when they instituted a counterfeit priesthood by the man of sin seated in God's temple claiming to be god [2.Thess.2]. This is the transgression of desolation!

In fact the papal see put itself above God when he claimed power to change His holy moral law of the 10 Commandments. The Pope reigned from 538 AD to 1798 AD making it exactly 1260 years as prophetic time fulfilled itself.

The 2300 symbolic days in Daniel 8:14 [like the 70 weeks or 490 literal days] reached to 1844 AD when JESUS cleansed [KJV] the heavenly temple according to prophecy. After 1844, the temple was cleansed from being trodden under foot by papists and protestants alike. [Protestantism did not come clean out of Rome].

In fact, before 1844 AD, the whole of Christianity was totally ignorant of what the sanctuary was. It can be seen from the fact that the Baptist William Miller thought along with all others, that it constituted this earth and that JESUS was coming early to cleanse it by fire. This suited the fire and brimstone preachers at that time. This has all changed into a more social gospel since.


The starting point for the 2300 days of years are the same as for the 70 weeks of years in Daniel 9:24-27 announcing the Messiah Jesus Christ. William Miller, a Baptist, with the rest of Christianity thought that the "SANCTUARY" was this earth JESUS came to cleanse by fire from sin and Sinners. The end of the 2300 days of years came to 1844 A.D. 

   The little horn power of Daniel chapter seven [Protestant Reformers all believed this to be the papacy] had cast down this truth of GOD'S Sanctuary to the ground: 11."Yea, and he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. 12.And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.
13.Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary, and the host to be trodden under foot? 14. And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days, then shall the sanctuary be cleansed."---Daniel 8:11-14.

There is no event recorded after 2300 literal days that would fit this prophecy. But the Protestant principle of prophetic interpretation of a day for a year [see also Ezekiel 4:6] does perfectly fit the 70 weeks prophecy from Daniel's time to when JESUS was anointed at His baptism, and the duration of the little horn [papacy] of the time and times and the dividing of time [3 1/2] or three and a half years. In Jewish reckoning, 3 1/2 years are 1260 days at 30 days per month. Since the days  are symbolic, they are 1260 literal years. The Papacy reigned from 538 - 1798 A.D., exactly 1260 years.

Seventh Day Adventists today stand alone with the year day principles inherited from Protestantism, since the latter have changed to new cultic interpretations of the secret rapture, dispensationalism and the pentecostal spirit of tongues and even returned to Roman doctrines of the Counter-Reformation such as Pretorism and Futurism.

"And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time."---Daniel 7:25

If Protestantism believed that the little horn is the Papacy, why do they not accept today the insistence of the Seventh Day Adventist Church's claim? Here this verse tells us that this power thought to change the times and laws of the most High when they took out the second commandment and changed the fourth from Saturday to Sunday.

The great and bitter disappointment of 1844 is well described in Revelation 10:9-11 when the angel bade them to eat the little prophetic book of Daniel and the prophecy was so sweet in their mouth when they proclaimed it, but turned sour when Christ did not come as expected. But says the angel, you must prophecy again after this.

"And I went to the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. 10. And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. 11. And he said unto me, Thou must prophecy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings."---Revelation 10:9-11.

The "Sanctuary" opened up a new chapter to early Adventists. As they saw that the papacy [the little horn] had obscured Christ's intercessory priesthood in the heavenly sanctuary by a counterfeit priesthood of their own, the application of the above verse in Daniel showed how the truth was cast to the ground and prospered.

Early Adventists also saw how the "protest" had gone out of Protestantism in the early 1800's. The heresy of dispensationalism started to deny the validity of GOD'S holy 10 Commandments and nailing them to the cross along with the ceremonial law of Moses. At that time Adventist started to see themselves identified with the three angels messages of Revelation 14 declaring the moral fall of spiritual Babel [Christianity].

Adventists used to observe Sunday as the Sabbath with the rest of Christianity, until they saw after the great disappointment [Revelation 10] that the heavenly sanctuary is visible on the day of judgment [Revelation 11:1,2,18,19] and we all will be judged by all of the 10 Commandments [Ecclesiastes 12:13,14; James 2:10-12] that the first day Adventist became the Seventh Day Adventists after 1844 and formed into a denomination in 1863.

From now on, the Seventh Day Adventist Church could identify itself with the leftovers or "Remnants" of the original pure church pictured in Revelation 12:17  "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."---Rev.12:17.

How does the dragon [devil] make war on us? A "Remnant will never be big. It will remain small and since fallen Roman Catholicism and now Protestantism have so far differentiated themselves from us and the Bible, they call us a "CULT" and warn people to stay away from us and our public evangelistic outreach meetings. Myriads are the opposition to CHRIST'S Seventh day Sabbath that they even lie to the people and declared it to be Jewish. They even go as far as opposing JESUS who says that it is not Jewish, but for all men [Mark 2:28].

       The hope of every Christian is the return or 'advent' of JESUS CHRIST to come and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, our great GOD [Titus 2:13]. This is called the "ADVENT" and hence ADVENTISTS.
JESUS is also the Lord of the Seventh Day Sabbath [Matthew 12:8] therefore are we SEVENTH DAY ADVENTISTS that sets us apart from the rest. All our believes centre around our Lord JESUS:

 

1.) Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour from sin [Gospel Revelation 14:6-12] Not in sin, see Matthew 1:21.
2.) Jesus Christ as Great High Priest in His most holy Sanctuary Temple in heaven.
3.) Jesus Christ and His own holy day of worship
4.) Jesus Christ and His advent to come and reign in power and glory to end sin.
5.) Jesus Christ and eschatology, the apocalyptic prophecies about the end-time.

Churches are usually represented by creeds. SDA'S never had one of those until recently. These are called the 28 Fundamentals and can be viewed in a separate window HERE. [since added one more].

We are often charged with having a different Gospel. The new testament warns us that if anyone has a new Gospel let him be accursed. Because we do keep all of the 10 Commandments including the Sabbath of CHRIST and the fourth of the Ten, that we are being wrongly accused of being under the law as Paul quotes some were in the church of the Galatians.

Seventh Day Adventists like to be known for preaching the "THREE ANGELS MESSAGES" of Revelation 14:6-12. Here we do find the everlasting Gospel announcing the start of the judgment hour of GOD [see verse 6] Seventh Day Adventists are the remains of the Millerite's who were "First Day Adventists."

              The Baptist licensed preacher William Miller in the early 1800's had turned from atheism to preaching by studying the old testament prophecies relating to the end - time events also called "Eschatology" and he came across the prophecies of Daniel and the 2300 days found in Daniel 8:14. Miller found that the starting date for the 2300 days were the same as for the 70 weeks of years announcing JESUS CHRIST as the Messiah in Daniel 9:24-27 and so with arrived at 1844 A.D. for the end of the 2300 days of years. With mathematical accuracy William Miller arrived at the time when CHRIST would come, not as he expected to this earth to cleanse the sanctuary temple of GOD, but the heavenly temple sanctuary from the sins of those who worship therein [Revelation 11:1,2]. At the end of each ceremonial year, Yom Kippur, the day of judgment  occurred in the old testament temple services as a shadow of better things to come. It was proceeded by 10 days of fasting, deep searching of heart and a thorough confession of sins. Then on that day, the great high priest would take the blood offering for sin into the "Most Holy Place" of the sanctuary temple into the presence of our holy GOD and his ark of the testament containing the Ten Commandments [Revelation 11:18,19; Hebrews 9:7,8]. This is the type of CHRIST entering the Most Holy Place of the temple sanctuary in heaven for the final atonement and judgment reflected in the "Three Angels Messages" of Revelation 14 where it says that the judgment of GOD had begun.

The Three Angels are also quoting the Sabbath from the Ten Commandments [Revelation 14:7;cf. Exodus 20:8-12] the corporate day of worship of the new testament [Matthew 24:20; Mark 2:27,28; Revelation 1:10] which had been changed by the apostasy of the church of Rome which also claims the responsibility for the change to Sunday and into sin.---Thomas Aquinas, Summa theologica,II,q.122,a4 ad 4

Protestant Reformers never reclaimed the proper form of Baptism or the day of worship nor the error of the immortality of the soul from pagan ancestry worship and the Greek philosophy that Rome inherited. "BABYLON IS FALLEN, IS FALLEN' that great city, because she made all nations drink the wine of the wrath of her fornication." [Rev.14:8]  Ancient Babylon was both a city and a worldwide empire. So was Rome. Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon made or forced every one into idolatry by worshipping the statue of himself set up on the plain of Dura. The Church of Rome removed the second of the 10 Commandments which for bids idolatry so she could bring into Christianity images and statues otherwise forbidden by GOD and so made or forced all nations doing the same.

GOD had always had His Protestant Reformers who kept the knowledge of true worship available to the people even though sometimes in the most trying circumstances from the early age of the Waldensee's to Luther and William Miller and others.  But by the time the first of these three Angels messages started to sound in 1844, Protestantism had given up the "PROTEST" and started their way back to Rome. Babylon stands for confusion. The moral fall of modern spiritual Babel [speaking in tongues] is not yet complete. Not all have heard the full truth of the matter. But when fallen protestant America will make the national Sunday law in favour of Rome against the Seventh Day Sabbath of CHRIST into law, forbidding to buy and sell unless one has the mark of the beast, only than will the moral fall be complete.

                  Against this evil, GOD is pronouncing the greatest of all threads He has ever announced against anyone: "If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the lamb."---Revelation 14:9,10.

The beast 666 of course is from the previous chapter, Revelation 13, where the 10 horned multi featured persecuting beast is superseded by a new  second beast [Rev.13:11] that does the same as the first beast in enforcing false worship.

Seventh Day Adventists have always believed that the second beast is fallen protestant America enforcing the Sunday law of false worship. Because of the claim the Roman Church has made in the past, namely, that the change of the day of worship is the "MARK" of her authority in religious matters. She must say religious, because she is also a political force and that is what makes her and her daughters Prostitutes [see Revelation 17 cf. James 4:4].

Seventh Day Adventists have long pointed out that the 10 Commandments are the royal law of freedom [James 1:25;2:12] belonging to CHRIST our Creator GOD who Himself gave it on MT. Sinai and before that to father Abraham [Genesis 26:5]who also had the Gospel preached to him [Galatians 3:8] and that these ten will judge us at the last day.

Great enmity is shown us by satanic forces and those used by them against the commandments of GOD [see Revelation 12:17] as by faith we establish [Romans 3:31].

The great and bitter disappointment of 1844 A.D. is also seen in Revelation 10, which no doubt refers to the little prophetic book of Daniel as can be seen by the start of the next chapter, Revelation 11 which speaks of measuring those who worship by faith in the heavenly sanctuary with JESUS. Measuring is a type of judgment to see whether we measure up to JESUS and His purity and moral law of the Decalogue.

The time of papal supremacy that suppressed the intercessionary work of CHRIST as our great high priest above is given as 42 month, 1260 days [Rev.11:2b,3] and time, times, and half a time [Rev.12:14] as referring to the same period. As these are figuratively, they refer to 1260 literal years when the church of Rome ruled the fallen Empire from 538-1798 A.D.

Protestant Reformers unitedly called the papacy the Antichrist of the Scriptures as depicted in 2.Thess.2 and the little horn of Daniel 7:25, but today deny those applications since the protest has stopped.

Adventist hold the Bible as their only rule of faith and practice. Luther and others only hold faith alone without the practice. We are also being falsely accused of having the writings of the "Spirit of prophecy" [Revelation 12:17;19:10] in addition to the Scriptures. But which religion does not have extra written material as study helps? Here the Church of Rome has invented a new interpretation of the last days prophetic books of Daniel and the Revelation called "Pretorism" and "Futurism" and sold them to Protestantism in direct opposition and conflict with Adventism.

The Jesuit priests inserted 2000+ years into the complete 70 weeks of Daniel 9:24-27 prophecies of the Messiah allotted to the Jews to finish with sin and transgression. This Anti-Reformation doctrines were originally written to direct all protestant charge of antichrist far away from papal Rome into the far distant past of Antiochus Epiphanes and the far distant future for another antichrist to come at the end of the world. A study of the Seventh Day Adventist Daniel and Revelation seminars shows a marked contrast of prophecy. Instead of pointing to an earthly temple in Jerusalem to be rebuilt for the papacy, we point you to the heavenly temple where the Lord JESUS is our great high priest in the Most Holy place of the ark of the covenant with all 10 of the Ten Commandments intact which will judge us in the last day.

The Gospel of Revelation 14:6-12 is good news, but only to those who are in harmony with the moral law and CHRIST'S Seventh Day Sabbath. It is bad news for Christians who make a high profession of faith with the mouth only but do not follow through with good works as the gift of grace implies [Eph.2:8-10].

Seventh Day Adventists have often been accused of being a cult. This is done in spite and in a derogative way. JESUS said that if they persecute Me, they will also persecute you. JESUS was called a Beelzebub meaning Devil and should His church be called anything else? Satan's enmity is against those who keep all the Commandments of GOD and have the testimony of JESUS [Revelation 12:17] which is the spirit of prophecy [Revelation 19:17] aka eschatology the end time books of Daniel and Revelation well explained.

Christianities foremost specialists on Cults, the late Dr.s Barnhouse and Walter Martin while compiling a new book called 'The Kingdom of Cults' investigated the Seventh Day Adventist church headquarters and all Adventist literature of past and present, reported that the Adventists have been falsely labelled as a cult and should be accepted into Christianity. For Adventism, this was a smack in the face. Adventists regard themselves as the heir of the Protestant Reformation and in no need of recognition as such, but brought rejoicing to the Leadership against the will of the Laity.

                      In the 1800's when fallen Christianity renounced all their former believes and became cults themselves, condemned by GOD'S three angel's Messengers of Revelation 13 and 14 as fallen Babylon, they invented new unbiblical doctrines such as the "Secret Rapture" which is only a theory, "Dispensationalism" "Speaking in tongues" which should be languages instead of an unmeaning gibberish and mutterings condemned by Isaiah 8:19 and declared all the Ten Commandments nailed to the cross thereby resurrecting the old "Antinomian" heresy.

Next, consider that all the churches of Christianity kept Sunday as their Sabbath day strictly holy. But since the 1800's when the first angel announce their moral fall, they have violated their Sabbath day by commerce and pleasure loving. GOD can no longer accept the old tradition of Sunday keeping in the light of truth now shining on the Sabbath question.


Seventh Day Adventists saw themselves in Revelation 14 with the end time Gospel emphasizing the judgment of GOD had come and the message of the Sabbath belonging to CHRIST [see Matthew 12:8 ; Revelation 14:6,7] which points to 1844 A.D. to the end of the 2300 days of years when JESUS the Lord of the Sabbath would start the judgment with the cleansing/justification of the heavenly temple [Daniel 8:13,14; Rev 11:18,19.] [See also Calvinism in Adventism] opens in new window

The fall of 'Babylon' started with the Mother church thousands of years ago, and does she not have children? [See revelation 17]. Babylon stands for confusion. Whenever the love for sin is maintained, confusion results. A new watered down Gospel is now very popular, deceiving the untrained into believing in instant salvation or the once saved always saved which is foreign to the Bible. Modern Babylon is void of true piety, holiness and sanctification. We are not saints, only forgiven sinners is today's slogan, but GOD's call is to come out of Babylon.
